Enjoy Spritz Season with Empress 1908

Who doesn’t love a good spritz out on the patio? Light and sessionable, it’s no wonder they’re always such a hit this time of year. If you’re as much of a fan as we are, you’re in luck! We’ve teamed up with a few of our creator friends to bring you a selection of spritz recipes to enjoy in the sunshine.

1. Limoncello Spritz 🍋
@the.boozy.ginger kicks things off strong with her take on the limoncello spritz. Marrying the earthy, citrus notes of our Empress Indigo Gin with zesty lemon, this easy to whip up and oh-so delish drink is bound to become a new summer favourite.
Glassware: Seneca Diamond Crystal Wine Glasses
Ingredients
- 1 oz Empress 1908 Indigo Gin
- 3 oz Prosecco
- 1 oz Limoncello
- 1 oz Club Soda
- Edible Flowers & Lemon Slice, to garnish
Method
Build ingredients in an ice-filled glass and top with a float of Empress 1908 Indigo Gin. Garnish with edible flowers and a lemon slice.
2. Peachy Pink Gin Spritz 💖
This season calls for all the outdoor parties, which means we’ll be needing some batched recipes on hand. Thankfully, @sundaytable.co has answered the call with this spritz pitcher that’s sure to please a crowd. The soft sweetness from peaches along with a burst of raspberries make for an unbelievably divine combo with the floral palate of our Elderflower Rose expression!
Glassware: Reserve Julian Crystal Bordeaux Glasses
Ingredients
- 8 oz / 240 ml Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin
- 16 oz / 480 ml Peach Nectar
- 2 oz / 60 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
- 4 oz / 120 ml Raspberry Liqueur
- 16 oz / 480 ml Brut Prosecco
- 8 oz / 240 ml Sparkling Water
- Sliced Peaches & Raspberries, to garnish
Method
Add the peach nectar and fresh lemon juice to a large pitcher. Then, add the raspberry liqueur and Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin. Carefully pour the brut Prosecco and sparkling water into the pitcher. Gently stir to combine. Add sliced peaches and raspberries. When ready to serve, pour the cocktail over ice and garnish with more sliced peaches and raspberries if desired. Enjoy!
TIP! If you just want to make a single serving, simply divide the measurements by eight and build the ingredients in the glass.
3. Gin & Jasmine Spritz 🌼
You probably know by now how much we love our florals and citrus. @hauste mixes up a particularly unique concoction of jasmine and yuzu for a lively, yet elegant sip! We especially obsessed with how the delicate jasmine plays off the light herbal qualities of our gin.
Glassware: Raye Angled Crystal Amaro Spritz Glasses
Ingredients
- 1½ oz Empress 1908 Indigo Gin
- ½ oz Jasmine Simple Syrup*
- Prosecco, to top
- Yuzu Lemonade, to top
- Jasmine Blossoms, for garnish
Method
Build all the ingredients in a wine goblet filled with ice and gently stir to combine. Garnish and enjoy!
*To make jasmine syrup, add 1 cup each of sugar and water to a saucepan over medium heat and stir to combine. Lower heat and add 1 bag of jasmine tea or 1 tbsp of jasmine blossoms and let simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until desired flavour is reached. Cool, remove tea bag or blossoms, and store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks!
4. Garden Spritz 🌿
A spritz that’s truly worthy of the name, this creation by @bitsbitesblog takes us to lush gardens upon first taste with the invigorating essence of florals and herbs. It really is summer beauty in a glass!
Glassware: Raye Angled Crystal Gin & Tonic Glasses
Ingredients
- 2 oz Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin
- 1 oz Thyme Simple Syrup*
- 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 3 oz Prosecco
- 1 oz Soda Water
- Thyme Sprig & Edible Flowers, for garnish
Method
To an ice-filled cocktail glass, add thyme simple syrup, Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin, and fresh lemon juice. Top with Prosecco and a splash of soda water. Stir to combine & garnish with a fresh sprig of thyme and edible flowers. Enjoy!
*To make thyme simple syrup, combine ½ cup each of sugar and water along with 3-5 thyme sprigs in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, turn off heat, and let the thyme steep until the mixture has cooled. Strain before using and keep refrigerated in a clean container for up to two weeks.
5. Sunset Spritz 🧡
Last but certainly not least, we have this dreamy tipple by @whitekitchen_redwine. Evocative of a striking summer sunset, this spritz boasts vibrant hue that perfectly reflects its balanced profile of bittersweet orange with a crisp finish.
Glassware: Raye Angled Crystal Burgundy Glasses
Ingredients
- 1 oz Empress 1908 Indigo Gin
- 2 oz Aperol
- 3 oz Prosecco (or club soda)
- Fresh Orange & Lemon Slices, to garnish
- Edible Flowers, to garnish
Method
Fill a glass with crushed ice. Add slices of fresh orange and lemon to the glass. Pour in the Aperol. Add Empress 1908 Indigo Gin, and top with Prosecco. Garnish with edible flowers. Enjoy!
