The cat’s out of the bag! Our Master Distiller has been hard at work creating the perfect gin for summer sipping, and good news— NEW Empress 1908 Cucumber Lemon Gin is now available in select US states, BC and AB!
Inspired by the flavours and traditions of afternoon tea, our distillers expertly blend eight botanicals to create an exquisite spirit that’s especially divine for the upcoming season.
Empress Cucumber Lemon Gin is bursting with extraordinary fresh flavours! In addition to lively juniper berries, you’ll taste bright and bold citrus notes from lemon peel, crisp flavours of garden cucumber, subtle cardamom spice, and soft fragrant floral notes from jasmine. Without further ado, let’s jump into some RECIPES to get you started!
1. CUCUMBER & TONIC
We’re hard pressed to find a cocktail that’s more refreshing than this simple duo! Crisp, balanced, and full of botanical complexity – this vegetal take on the G&T lets our Empress Cucumber Lemon Gin sing.
2. DEW DROP MARTINI
Does it get more sophisticated than a martini? Spirit-forward and elegant, our Dew Drop Martini adds just enough dry vermouth and fragrant garnishes to accent our fresh botanicals.
3. EMERALD COLLINS
A little sweet and tangy and lengthened to perfection, this twist on the classic Tom Collins is easy to sip on and bound to dazzle a crowd. Mix this up for your next garden party!
Ingredients
- 1½ oz Empress 1908 Cucumber Lemon Gin
- 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 oz Simple Syrup
- Soda Water, to top
- Cucumber Ribbon, to line glass
- Lemon Slice, for garnish
Method
Start by lining a collins glass with a cucumber ribbon and fill with ice. Set aside. Shake gin, syrup, and lemon juice over ice and strain into prepared cocktail glass. Top with soda water and garnish with lemon slice. Enjoy!
4. BASIL GIMLET
Sharp lime and aromatic basil come together along with our gin’s citrus and cucumber notes for a sip that’s greater than the sum of its parts. It might just be a new favourite!
Ingredients
- 2 oz Empress 1908 Cucumber Lemon Gin
- ¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ¾ oz Simple Syrup
- 5 Basil Leaves
- Cucumber Ribbon, for garnish
Method
Add liquid ingredients and basil into a cocktail shaker and gently muddle to release aromatics. Shaker over ice to chill and fine-strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with cucumber ribbon on a cocktail pick and enjoy!
5. HUGO TWIST
Enjoy a taste of garden magic with this lively and effervescent spritz! Cooling mint, lightly sweet elderflower, and bubbly make for an invigorating tasting experience that’s perfect for taking along to the patio on a bright, sunny day.
Ingredients
- 1½ oz Empress 1908 Cucumber Lemon Gin
- ¾ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- ¾ oz Elderflower Liqueur
- ¼ oz Simple Syrup
- 6 Mint Leaves, plus more for garnish
- Prosecco and Soda Water, to top
- Edible Flowers, for garnish
Method
Shake ingredients except for prosecco and soda water on ice and fine-strain into a wine goblet filled with ice. Top with prosecco and a splash of soda water and garnish with more mint leaves and edible flowers.
